chapter 53

We shuffled to the window. I could smell the smoke now even though my hand was around my mouth. Gary didn't have his hand around his mouth anymore. He was holding Robbie with both hands which meant he all access to the smoke. Gary was almost choking from the smoke even tears were falling down his face from the smoke. "H...hold...on." Gary coughed loudly and smashed the window with a chair. "Y..you...go..go...first Yasmin..." Gary held to the side of the window ledge trying to breathe slowly. "B..but..." I held Robbie even tighter. "GO!" He choked. Slowly I went out the window and onto some stairs. Gary took Robbie's head and shoulders and guided him out the window. "Grab...his l..legs" He was panting even more. The smoke was unreal how much there was. I pulled Robbie's legs making him fall on top of me. I was getting really dizzy from the smoke. "G...Gary...c...come...out..." My eyes wouldn't focus. Everything was spinning. Gary got one of his legs out the window, but before he could get out there was the loudest bang and he got pulled back in. "Noooooo!!!" I screamed trying to get to my feet. I looked through the window which was now covered in flames. There was no sign of Gary. Then everything just went black...
